Goodreads does not provide the option to rate with half-stars, so this add-on serves as a workaround by using tags. These tags do not replace the regular whole-star ratings but are used in addition via the tag shelves. The add-on supports a rating scale from 0 to 5 with increments of 0.25.
The tag name format follows the pattern "rating-TYPE-RATING," where TYPE can be "stars" or "clouds," and RATING ranges from "0-0" to "5-0." Additionally, the add-on supports various other tag rating formats for convenience, such as "4-half-stars" or "four-and-one-half." Hyphens are used instead of decimal places for half-star/cloud ratings due to tag restrictions.
One notable feature is that the rating images are intentionally not displayed in the add-tag popup area, making it easier to see and auto-complete their text names.
